Helen T. Manninga -

Helen T. Manninga, 97, a resident of Beulah Land Christian Home, Flanagan, and a former Minonk resident, died at 7:25 p.m. Friday (May 14, 2004) at O.S.F. St. James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m., Monday at the Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, with the Rev. Daniel Gansch-Boythe officiating. Burial will follow in Minonk Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service. Memorial contributions are preferred and may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ or to an organization of the donor's choice.

Mrs. Manninga was born Oct. 13, 1906, in rural Minonk, the daughter of Edmond A. and Tena Folkers Ioerger. She married John W. Manninga Jan. 27, 1926, in Minonk. He died June 10, 1995.

Survivors include two daughters, Bonna Jo (Rowland) Tucker, Minonk; and Lee Ora (Richard) Osborn, Bloomington; a grandson, Darrel Punke, Eureka; and two great-grandchildren, Laura and Jason Punke, Eureka.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Ioerger.

Mrs. Manninga was a lifetime member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and a member of the Ladies Aid and Willing Workers. She was a charter member of Yankee Town Home Extension.

Helen was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting and crafts. She will be greatly missed.
